It was rather extraordinary, but mostly captured here by shooting towards the sun, which I think one shouldn’t do. Also using Dynamic Monochrome setting on my Lumix point ‘n shoot.
That’s unreal. My favourite detail is the slope of the hills on the horizon and the space between the stone arch structure in the foreground to that, the space between the top of the arch and the hills…it’s gorgeous.
I have attempted to read it three times .- it is part of a collection of 20th Century Literature I was bequeathed as part of a set of encyclopedias – and never finished it.
The fact she met with a very sad end may explain, in part, her style of writing; if this was a typical example.
I think she struggled with her writing in latter years; could do no more than 250 words a day. Which actually is about my output these days – outside blogworld that is 😦
Hello Janet. Lovely to hear from you. I know you’ve had a lot to sort out and come to terms. So sending you a virtual hug along with New Year’s greetings. Glad you like the pix.
As you can probably tell, I’m getting things caught up here. The photography in your posts have been a real treat, Tish, with today’s capture being nothing short of spectacular.
Atmospheric, Tish! What is the ruin to the left of the image?
This, I gather, is the Tudor chapel that was built atop St Dwynwen’s much earlier chapel. It’s doing a good job silhouette-wise, isn’t it.
Fantastic!
dawn or Celtic twilight? whichever the light is blindingly gorgeous

One of my fave LUMIX modes – good to experiment beyond the bounds too!
What an inspiringly beautiful place. Great shot.
Thank you, Sandra.

Thank you, Bill. I like those hills too. Expand the physical and mental vista. At least that’s what I was thinking 🙂
Lovely shot Tish. I do like the ruin and the cross.
They’re earning their keep aren’t they 🙂
It looks like the end of an epic movie. Gorgeous!
That’s an interesting idea. It’s making me wonder what the movie would be about. Oh, yet one more mental tangent…
The path to a magical world.

It certainly felt like that, Janet.
Wow, very beautiful and atmospheric picture! 🙂

And the fingers of god too
Yes indeed. They add their own touch of drama 🙂
A truly outstanding photograph.
I saw the title and was reminded of To The Lighthouse, by Virginia Woolfe.
You photo is a lot mote enjoyable!
I seem to remember struggling with that book, and yes the title was in my mind as I took the photo. Glad my version is more enjoyable 🙂

Great image, Tish – Virginia would approve.
Stunning, shooting into the sun often gets good results.
This one is even more magical… Gorgeous shot, Tish..

It looks like a mythical site. What a scene you captured there, Tish. It would be awful to have missed this post.
So glad you discovered it, Paula 🙂
