Hard to know which of us was on mind altering substances β me, my camera, or the Wenlock Edge Sky-painter. Perhaps all three of us. Anyway, I was tramping along the margins of Townsend Meadow, having been to the allotment for a trawl of Tuscan kale and cabbage tree greens. It was around 4 p.m. but already going dark, and I had paused briefly to watch three little girls bouncing so joyously on their garden trampoline in a hectic communion of after-school-steam-lettingoffness β when it suddenly occurred to me to turn around. And this is what I saw. It took my breath away. So of course I had to snap it and pass it on.
We had a similar sky here on Sunday – but redder. The sky painter has been very busy this week π
The best things in life are free.
Absolutely, Jude re the best things in life.
Impressive, Tish. We don’t get skies like that in Delhi with the smog and pollution at this time of year.
Your smog situation is still worrying me.
Looks like alien visitors are about to land:) Love it.
The sky this morning was equally lovely but very different. And no, I didn’t…. π¦ π¦
Ah, but you have it in your mind’s eye π
Impressive, indeed!
Fabulous! Well spotted, Tish
I can see why it took your breath away. Gorgeous!

We’re taking a bow at the Sky Gallery π
It’s a lovely shot, Tish, but I do detest it getting dark so early. π

Yes, and it seems to start happening after lunch!
Sunsets, clouds, and distant horizons are very often stunning combinations, as you’ve so beautifully captured here.
It’s a very interesting piece of sky. You never know what’s going to appear up there.
You were in the right place at the right time Tish it’s magical.
Mostly down to having a camera with me at ALL times π
