These photos were taken on Llanddwyn Island, Anglesley, North Wales a couple of Christmases ago. It was a brilliant sunshiny day, but the wind was cruel.
Llanddwyn bound: crossing to the isle of loversΒ for more about the island that is really a peninsula of Newborough Beach.
Very interesting selection of images for the theme π
Thank you so much for sharing, Tish π
Many thanks, Sreejith.
Oh! I was expecting bright sunny pictures. You always surprise us. Thanks.
I also surprise myself. Am feeling v. monochrome today π
I’m a mono girl myself. lol
Beautiful use of monochrome, Tish. I like the title, too. We haven’t had a landline of the phone type for some years now.
janet
Cheers, Janet π
Love these stark monochrome images, Tish
Thanks, Sue.
Master pieces in monochrome, Tish!
Not just good pictures, but lovely cyan tinting, too. Beautiful!
I am taking a bow π Thank you.
These are all very good photos. I particularly like the lines formed by the windswept grasses.
I like the bowing grasses too π Thanks, Suzanne.
Wind may have been cruel, but oh what it does to grasses and sand!!
I was thinking of you, Meg, when I was posting them. Elemental artwork! Actually it’s you beach galleries that inspired me to post the photos in this manner.
These images are quite haunting in monochrome
Thank you, Pauline. It is a haunting place, but in a good way.
Hello (from Paris – France)
These photographers are great.
From here, I hear the wind blowing
Merci bien, Yoshimi. That is a lovely comment.
Love these Tish. The tint is very effective. And the shots themselves capture the weathering of a harsh landscape.
Thank you, Sue.
Came back for another squizz.
I’m busy listening to Claude Bolling’s picnic suite but seeing the cracking header I immediately thought of Fool on the Hill.
I like your soundtracks, Ark, actual and imagined. Fool on the hill – yes!
Beautiful images, I really like the way you have edited them.
Many thanks π
I really like these shots.
Thank you, Gilly
i’ve rarely seen such a beautiful gallery in black and white, Tish. So much of life in them. π π My particular favourite is the little bay with the lighthouse but I love them all.
Lovely Jo. Thank you for those very kind words.
That blue tint is gorgeous. I feel like my eyes just got a massage.
Oh that’s so good to hear, Julie π π
I had missed this terrific post….
Adore your photos !
Thank you, Anna π
