Yes, the signs really say a lot about the place. I love those elephants on the bar sign.
They’re great, aren’t they. Tusker beer is pretty darn good too. Mm. Miss that, now I think of it.

I like the aged quality in some of your photos – it suits the ‘age gone by’ content. They would make great wall images if blown up – the first three or so in this series particularly

Well, yes, the photos are a bit old, but the interesting thing I noticed was that all the 1950s and 60s formerly mainstream products in UK had somehow washed up in East Africa along with a reprise of artwork of the period. Fascinating the ways of marketing.
I remember some of these signs…Tusker of course was good 🙂
