I’ve settled a few herbaceous cuttings in our rental house garden – geraniums, helianthus, Michaelmas daisies, centaurea, valerian, and oregano, and they’re all doing rather well.
But this opium poppy brought herself, and this morning proved a hot spot for a bee and hoverfly feeding frenzy. Visitors included a white tailed bumble bee and a flurry of marmalade hoverflies.
Gosh it is a food fest! Well done on the video.
Thanks, Jude. I have to say it was a real faff uploading it. Things on WP don’t seem to work like they used to.
What a great video!
Thank you, Margaret.
That is positively amazing and beautiful. Thank you Tish. 🙂
You are most welcome, Janet 🙂
The bee really gets into it…,I have never had any luck with growing poppies but I do love them.
This poppy just popped up. No help from me at all 🙂
Wow!
Fab, Tish! Thanks for faffing on our behalf
Thanks, Sue 🙂
awesome
🙂 🙂 🙂
Great capture Tish and on video too (will you be YTing from on) – jsut wondered what is your rental house garden.
YTube seems the only way to get a vid on WP. Or at least the only way I could fathom. Not planning more. As to our rental house, we moved from Wenlock in mid-March, and are renting in nearby Broseley until we can buy a house. We have quite a nice little garden, but a lot of my growing in now pots and buckets, which seems to be working quite well. (No allotment this year). The process of buying a new house is a form of Chinese water torture! I was glad to be diverted by the opium poppy show.
I must have missed the move Tish – sad to see that lovely garden gone but exciting times ahead too – when the torture ends (fingers crossed it is not too protracted). I carried my garden around in pots for years before rooting – it made me more intimate with them than if I had just popped them into the ground.
Thanks for all those thoughts, Laura. Our new house, when we actually get hold of it from solicitor slow processing, has some pleasing possibilities. More of which – well when we get there 🙂
They all look to be getting “high”….!!! Great video
Thanks. Pauline. High speed ‘high’ at that.

That flower certainly is popular, and what a great video!
Thanks, Sarah.
