  1. Our temperature finally dropped and it’s lovely except that we are critical for EASTERN EQUINE ENCEPHALITIS (EEE) infected mosquitoes, so they have canceled all evening events throughout most of the state and of course, it is spreading.

These mosquitoes didn’t use to congregate this far north. It’s scary and depressing.

  2. Sounds good to me, Tish. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Just had a very lovely early evening stroll by the river, swifts ducking and diving. And a simple but nice meal. Best part of the day ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. So you’ve got our swifts! They’ve been in short supply this year over the field, and I think generally. Nothing like an evening stroll by the river at the close of a hot day. Mmm.

      1. Iโ€™m not normally a fan of yellow flowers, but your photos were so full of sunshine and energy. And there really isnโ€™t much colour here at the moment.

    1. Helianthus – perennial sunflowers. There are many varieties. I have 3, and they’re all brilliant at this time of year, and especially if I remember to dead-head. They do spread, but not too outrageously. Also seem happy in a pot.

        1. Enough room is the problem. I’ve just posted somewhere that challenged my garden lust to the nth decree – Wildegoose Nursery in Corvedale. I wanted ALL the plants.
