Between the walls of the Great Enclosure. The wall behind me dates from the 1400s, the one in front with its less skilled brickwork dates from the 1200s AD.

What an amazing photo Tish. Captured in history.
Yes, and almost a monument myself these days – a long ago shot 🙂
Haha well as with most of us we are hardest on ourselves.
amazing shot Tish
What a fabulous photograph:)
what a fabulous place to visit. I’m off to visit your link right now. 🙂
Great capture of the scene and history, Tish!
Thank you, Amy.
this is a wonderful photograph- just perfect for the challenge!
Thank you so much for commenting and visiting my blog, vanillarock.
Thank you for the image. I’ve never seen a good one of this before, though I’ve heard of it.
Gosh, the texture in the photo and composition is lovely (here I go talking like I know how to talk about these things). But I like the roly-poly quality of the bricks and your expression, in between. Cool. It’s that kind of expression you put on in a scene like this when you’re surrounded by something so much bigger than yourself, which is funny. Like how am I here, right now?
Glad it hit the spot, Bill.
It is a stunning photo!!
Thank you. It’s a very amazing place
This is great Tish. I love seeing you here.
I could imagine how small we are when walking between those two walls… Great Shot, Tish….
cheers,
Nurul
Thanks, Nurul. And yes those walls are amazing – just wonderfully laid brick by brick and no mortar.
Amazing what remains and what does not. 🙂
I think that is a comment of archaeological proportions – much like your poetry, Nomzi – lots of strata 🙂
😀
I have some photos taken in almost exactly the same place! such a great place for photos.
It’s an amazing place isn’t it. I’d love to go back now,
A fantastic shot in every way Tish!!! Great light, and that antiquity is hard to beat. Kudos to the photographer 🙂
Lovely comment, Madhu. Thank you, I’ll tell him 🙂
